medical exercise expertQ:  I am getting married in six weeks.  I am not in bad shape, but I don’t exercise too much and I want to be in good shape so I can dance all night for my wedding.  I could also lose just a few pounds as my dress is a tiny bit tight.  What would you recommend for me?

A:  We hear this from quite a few brides that want to squeeze into a dress that makes them look perfect.  You have plenty of time.  There are a few things that you want to work on.  First, you want to do consistent cardio workouts from now until the big day.  This can be on a treadmill, exercise bike, or a jog outside, or some of the Crossfit workouts that we will show you here.  You should do any of these at least 3 times a week for 30 min, and make sure you break a sweat, and your heart rate increases appropriately.  A Crossfit type of workout will accomplish the cardio, while working out certain muscle groups.  For brides to be, you want to work your core muscle groups – belly, butt and legs.  This is a video that is a great workout for brides-to-be.
